Dawn/Volkner, known mostly as BeaconShipping and/or デンヒカ (Denhika), is a common ship in the Pokémon fandom. It pairs Dawn (Hikari) and Volkner (Denzi), the female playable character and the Electric-type gym leader in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum respectively.

"BeaconShipping" was coined by Kali Kitsune on 30 September 2006 on Serebii.net.[1] It is based on the badge Volkner gives to the player, the Beacon Badge, and because a beacon is a source of light, (which is what 'hikari' is based on in Japanese.)
