The Burning Zone was a short lived tv series on UPN about agents fighting bio-hazards and biological warfare.
The team consisted of four people in the beginning but due to poor ratings the decision was made to drop Marcase and Shiroma.
- Doctor Edward Marcase (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), a virologist, who survived Ebola as a child
- Dr. Kimberly Shiroma (Tamlyn Tomita), a geneticist who blames Marcase for the death of her fiance from ebola
- Michael Hailey (James Black), a security consultant, formerly CIA
- Dr. Daniel Cassian (Michael Harris), a highly skilled doctor with a high security clearance, who is the leader of the team
- Dr. Brian Taft (Bradford Tatum) was added to the show after Marcase and Shiroma's exit.
The short-lived series ran from September 3, 1996 to May 20, 1997 and consisted of 19 episodes, each dealing with different types of events from ancient viruses to medical experiments gone wrong and even into the realms of fantasy with ancient gods of medicine.
