Cheery Littlebottom (also spelled Cheri Littlebottom in Feet of Clay) is a dwarf watchwoman from the City Watch series in Discworld. She is most notable for introducing feminine gender expression and pronouns to other dwarfs in the books.
Dwarf Gender
A large part of fandom’s engagement with the character is Cheery is about her gender and the implications for the series as a whole. Her arc of discovering her feminity and changing her name, pronouns, and appearance is very often read as an allegory for transitioning and other transgender people’s experiences with discovering herself and identity.
