Her first fanzine submission was for Zebra Three.

In 1979, Tucker was one of the first fans to use the term "/" as it relates to m/m in a published SH zine:

S/H? I'm not sure if I approve, but I will read it/them, simply because I will read anything on the two men. I have read some excellent K/S stories, yet I still don't concede the premise of a sexual relationship between them.[1]

In 1987, Tucker described the beginning of her fandom journey:

I started [in fandom] pretty much like everybody else, through Star Trek. Although I must admit, I did not care for the show when I first saw it. The first episode I saw was "Mudd's Women", which I thought was completely stupid. However, my best friend was an avid fan and she got me to watch it again. The second one I saw was "Devil in the Dark" and that sold me on the show. ... That show really hooked me, because it was so different from anything else I'd seen. After that basic start I attended a couple of conventions, and eventually started meeting people who shared my interests. Not just Trek, but other shows I was a fan of as well. I enjoy adventure and crime shows—if they're well done, or at least funny enough to watch. Somehow or other I tumbled into Starsky and Hutch fandom, which got me started writing. Until finally, I wound up with Hardcastle and McCormick. [2]

Over one hundred of her stories are now available on her ff.net account, and in 2023, Tucker said:

Author has written 149 stories for Emergency, Hardcastle and McCormick, Starsky and Hutch, NCIS, Torchwood, Supernatural, Sherlock, Captain America, and Avengers. I will no longer be posting any of my stories on this site. It's just become an issue, so I am now posting all my stories on Archive of Our Own. You will find me under LizabethSTucker. I will not be taking any of stories posted here down, at least not in the immediate future. [3]
