The Dinner Party Trio is a common gen (combi in Japanese) relationship in the Pokémon fandom. It's named after a bit of dialogue said by Siebold in Restaurant Le Yeah in Pokémon X and Y where he mentions occasionally cooking for Grant and Valerie. Thus, the trio is based on the idea that the three often go out to eat, with Siebold either eating with them or cooking for them as the restaurant's chef.
