Emmet & Volo is a common gen (combi in Japanese) relationship in the Pokémon fandom. It pairs Emmet (Kudari) and Volo (Volo), one of the twin brothers who run the Battle Subway in Pokémon Black and White and the Pokémon wielder guild merchant from Pokémon Legends: Arceus respectively.
Canon Background
The two do not meet in canon, with Volo living several hundred years before Emmet. Volo does however meet Ingo, Emmet's twin brother, who was forcefully placed back in time and in the region of Hisui by Giratina, (similar to that of the player character.)
Popular Tropes & Fanon
- Immortal Volo: Volo being immortal is often how the two meet, with Volo seeing Emmet and remembering Ingo, fascinated as to how that could've happened and if Giratina was involved.
- Fix-It: bringing Ingo back to his correct time period as an emotional fix-it.
- Historical AU: some works may have the two characters live not in Hisui or in modern-day New York, but elsewhere in time.

- I wish for truth by PerpetuallySleepy, Archived version (2022), “…on that day, I'll stand before Arceus at last – No, I will CONQUER it!” A man has a wish. A man in white helps. Is that a bad or good thing?
- Last Stop on the Tracks of Eternity by Bluegamergirl11, Archived version (2023), Immortality is overrated. At least, that’s what Volo thinks after spending three centuries with no one but his pokemon for company. He’s tired, lonely, and just wants Arceus to forgive him for that dumb mistake he made when he was basically a baby. So when he spots a familiar face in a brochure in Unova, he sees it for what it is- a chance to make amends(...)
