Fans most often use the term Hoenn Trio (豊縁トリオ) to describe the group formed by trainers Brendan (Yuuki), May (Haruka) and Wally (Mitsuru), all of whom were first introduced in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald in 2002.

"Hoenn Trio" may also be used to refer to other trios of Hoenn characters, but the gameverse trio of Brendan & May & Wally is often understood to be the Hoenn Trio. On Pixiv, the 豊縁トリオ tag refers to the gameverse Hoenn Trio, while the ホウエントリオ tag refers to the Pokémon Adventures manga version of the trio. This replaces Wally, who's not a main character in the manga, with Emerald.

The polyamorous version of their relationship, Brendan/May/Wally, is also common.
