Itasha (痛車) are vehicles decorated to show the owner's devotion to an anime/video game character or series. "Ita" is Japanese for ouch or painful, which is a tongue-in-cheek reference to "the pain inflicted on the cars as well as the owner's wallet."[1]
Shows
Shows are large gatherings in open areas such as parking lots, often outside a convention center. Cars are parked in rows for visitors to admire and photograph. Providing a itasha for the display may provide you free or discounted attendance to the event.
