Kabu/Larry, known mostly as SilverStreakShipping, AfterWorkShipping, Aokab, Kablarry, アオカブ (Aokabu), AOKB, カブアオ (Kabuao) and/or KBAO, is a popular ship in the Pokémon fandom. It pairs Kabu (Kabu) and Larry (Aoki), the Fire-type gym leader from Pokémon Sword and Shield and the Normal-type gym leader/Flying-type Elite Four member from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet respectively.

Canon Background

Canonically, the two never interact or mention each other.

The two began to be shipped by fans after Larry's inclusion in Pokémon Masters, a spin-off mobile game of the series featuring most of the game series Pokémon characters living together on a island, on 14 June 2024. In it, Larry and Kabu are shown to be old friends.

-Shipping Name Origin

Unlike most other common Pokémon ships, Kabu/Larry has nearly half-a-dozen coined -shipping names that see significant fan activity. In order of when they were coined:

  • OssanShipping - coined by Kyuu-Tales on 08 January 2023 on Bulbagarden,[1] notably before Kabu and Larry interacted in Masters. This is considered their "official" name on the Neverending Romance ship name list, considered to be a masterlist of all -shipping names in the fandom. Although this has been adopted by some shippers, it is rarely used as their primary name.
  • AfterWorkShipping - coined by jarold-rat on 15 June 2024 on Tumblr,[2] a day after Larry was introduced in Masters. This and SilverStreakShipping are their two most common names.
  • SilverStreakShipping - possibly coined by Exiled-md on 18 June 2024 on Tumblr.[3] This is their most common ship name as of 2025, with a fanweek called SilverStreakShipping Week popularizing the name.
  • FireBlandShipping - possibly coined by xerofresh on 25 June 2024 on Tumblr.[4] Sees limited usage.
