Kiawe is a Trial Captain from Pokémon Sun and Moon. In the PokéAni, he was one of Ash Ketchum's classmates throughout the Alola series, along with Lillie, Lana, Sophocles, and Mallow. This article will focus primarily on his PokéAni interpretation.

Kiawe is most commonly paired up with Ash Ketchum, forming ZclassShipping^[1]. In Japanese, this is most often called カキサト (Kakisato), meaning Kiawe is the seme and Ash is the uke in the coupling.
Kiawe is also shipped with Ilima, forming YellowFlowerShipping. In Japanese, this is most often called カキイリ (Kakiiri), meaning Kiawe is the seme and Ilima is the uke in the coupling.

Kiawe is also shipped with Mallow, forming SpiceShipping, aka NaheleAhiShipping. In Japanese, this is called カキマオ (Kakimao).
Kiawe is also shipped with Lana, forming IgneousPohakuShipping. In Japanese, this is called カキスイ (Kakisui).

Together, Kiawe and the rest of Ash's classmates form the Alola Classmates.
- In Japanese, their gen (combi in Japanese) relationship is called アローラスクール組, meaning Alola School Class.
