Shuichi Saihara/Pre-Game Shuichi Saihara, known mostly as Insai or Kagesai, is a rare same CP within the Dangan Ronpa fandom. The ship is between Shuichi Saihara and the version of him that was said to exist in canon before the events of Dangan Ronpa V3: Killing Harmony, released in 2017, who's called 陰キャ原 (Inkyahara), meaning Shadow/Yin Saihara, in the Japanese side of the fandom and Kagehara[Notes 1] in the English side of the fandom.
The "in" comes from the character for Yin 陰, meaning shadow, implying the two are equals. "Insai" is also used as a synonym for pre-game Shuichi Saihara in general since their pairing is so rare.
