Silencio is a Worm fanfiction that was very influential in the early fandom. In the fic, Taylor triggers with mime powers, but is left permanently mute. It was one of the first fics to feature the ship Amy Dallon/Taylor Hebert. The fic has been referenced by many other fics in the fandom, and is the origin of multiple fanon tropes.
Due to the technical limitations of SpaceBattles at the time, a new thread was created each time the existing thread got close to 100 pages. The threads spawned many omakes.
Fanon Tropes
- Started the trope of Madison Clements having the PHO handle SpecificProtagonist.
- Treating Amy as a Woobie
- Popularized (or introduced) the ship Amy Dallon/Taylor Hebert
Criticism
Over the years, many critcisms of the fic have been levied. These include:
- Woobifying Amy
- Whitewashing Purity's crimes and racism
- The relationship between Grue and Purity being problematic due to the age gap, among other things.
