Skullgirls, re-released under the name Skullgirls 2nd Encore and then retitled as Skullgirls 2nd Encore, is a fighting video game.
Canon
Every seven years, in the Canopy Kingdom, the Skull Heart and the titular Skullgirl emerge, causing mayhem and destruction. The main characters/fighters, for their own reasons, chase after the Skull Heart and thus must defeat the Skullgirl. The current Skullgirl is Marie.
