Unprepared Casters is a TTRPG actual-play podcast co-founded by Haley Whipjack and Gus Rachels, with Amelia Som eventually replacing the latter as co-host. The sessions are usually games of D&D, though others such as GODKILLER and Star Crossed are also played.

Unlike many other TTRPG podcasts, such as Critical Role or The Adventure Zone, in which the main campaigns usually tend to be comprised of a considerable number of episodes featuring the same characters, UC features multiple Arcs comprised of 4-6 episodes, with oneshots and mini-arcs here and there. Though existing in the same universe, each Arc features a different set of characters, with some reappearances later on.

Unprepared Casters first episode released in 2021.

In 2023, UC released a Twitter thread in support of Palestine.

UC have raised money for TransLifeline through several streams, reaching a donation milestone of $100,000 sometime before March 2025.

Arcs

Dragons in Dungeons

Arc 1 introduces the player characters of Hope Lovejoy, the first introduced member of the Lovejoy Family, Sir Mister Person, Thavius, Deb, and SK-73. Additionally included are the NPCs Aura Ashcreek/Amara Ashcreek.

Dragons in Dungeons is "Classic DnD", offering a relatively straightforward and simple narrative and concept for the first arc.

A bonus campaign between Arc 1 & 2, documented in the video I Made My Cat Play D&D, introduced White Claw, a character officially canon to the UC universe.

Lovejoy's Four

Arc 2 introduces the player characters of Lyndell Sterling, Robyn Lovejoy, Sasha Rose, and Ash Traveler. Several NPCs are also included, such as Richard Lovejoy and Mishka.

A oneshot between Arc 2 & 3, THE WITCH IS DEAD One-Shot, featured a cast of familiars attempting to resurrect their witch mother.
