Vampirella is a comic series originally published by Warren Publishing for 112 issues, then by Harris Publications after Warren's bankruptcy in 1983. In 2010 Dynamite Entertainment acquired the rights to the comic and have published it since then. There was also a movie adaptation in 1996, and another has been announced in 2021.

Canon

The titular character is a female vampire who has renounced killing of humans for food and fights the forces of Chaos. Her origins have been changed several times, depending on who is writing her at the time - at times she is an alien from the vampire planet Vulkon, at others the daughter of Lilith.

Characters

Fandom

Launched as a "hostess" character alongside sister horror comics Creepy and Eerie, Vampirella also had her own stories and became a popular character among horror comic fans. Among other horror fans, the response was less-favourable, with the character being a negative comparison when discussing vampires.[1]
