Vin Tanner is a leading character on The Magnificent Seven, a TV show based on the classic movie from 1960 which starred Yul Brynner, Horst Buchholz, Steve McQueen, and others. The film itself was a remake of the Japanese movie Seven Samurai (1954).
Vin is the sharpshooter of a group of seven men who protect a small town in the old west. He is wanted for a murder he did not commit in Tascosa, Texas, having been framed by a bounty he was hunting, Eli Joe. He is working at a local store when the series opens and when Nathan Jackson, the local healer, is dragged out to be hanged, he and another new arrival to the town Chris Larabee join forces to save the healer.
